Built in 1872 as a home for a local sugar baron, Todos Santos Inn has been sensitively and creatively converted from hacienda to delightful historic hotel. With just eight suites and rooms, the vibe is personal and the décor reflects Spanish colonial-style with beautiful arch windows, wooden beamed ceilings, hand-carved furniture, terracotta tiled floors and plush oriental rugs. Outside is just as alluring and romantic, with a lovely terrace, courtyards tinkling with the sound of fountains and lush gardens dotted with palm trees, banana plants and hideaways where you can relax in private. The inn has a sophisticated and peaceful ambience and children under 12 years are not accepted. Centrally located, we think Todos Santos Inn would suit romantic couples looking for accommodation in the heart of this captivating and artsy town.
There are two rooms, two Junior Suites and four Garden Suites. Common amenities include air-conditioning, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, crisp white linens, spacious en-suite bathroom with L’Occitane toiletries and Wi-Fi. Junior Suites include a bathtub and shower, sofa and shared terrace, while Garden Suites include a separate living area and private patio. There are no TVs or phones, but W-Fi is available throughout the property. The Copa Cocina restaurant serves traditional Mexican cuisine on the softly-lit terrace or in the lounge, while La Copa Bar is located alongside the patio fountain and has a sophisticated Mexican wine list.
There is a small pool with comfortable loungers in the gardens for cooling off after a day of exploring Todos Santos. Full of old-world elegance, we think Todos Santos Inn will appeal to couples looking for historic and romantic accommodation from which to explore the town.
When to go
Without a doubt the best season to visit Baja is during the whale migration between December and March. The weather in Baja is at its warmest between these months too, but also bring high hotel prices.
