Panama City and the Canal
Located on the coast, Panama City is the exciting and eclectic capital city of Panama. Imposing skyscrapers and the thriving banking district show the success of the new era as they sparkle next to the remainders of Panama Viejo, and the faded grandeur of the elegant French-style mansions of Casco Antiguo.
The Canal Zone provides a further contrast to this incredibly diverse city, with many stories to tell and people keen to tell them. The canal itself is an impressive feat of engineering, allowing ships to traverse the entire width of the country from the Atlantic to the Pacific via a series of locks.
The great thing about Panama City is that within an hour you can be in the heart of one of the many stunning National Parks, home to an abundance of flora and fauna.
