Cambodia and Laos

Cambodia and Laos are a dynamic duo, at once laid back yet vibrant, unspoilt yet well connected, full of natural splendour whilst home to enchanting cities. Winding your way through the heart of Indochina, from the bulb of Cambodia, to the long thin spine of Laos, following its natural lifeline, the Mekong, is bound to be an adventure you will never forget. This is southeast Asia at its most intriguing.

For Cambodia, the wonder of Angkor Wat, is perhaps its main attraction. It is a truly enchanting place whose wonder confirms it as one of the most spectacular sights in the catalogue of global must-sees. Retaining its former grandeur, the iconic corn cob spires of the temple complex must be seen to be believed but look beyond the mystique of the temples, and you will find a stretch of stunning coastline, a fascinating yet tragic history and a host of incredible activities to enjoy.

Further north, Laos is a real forgotten gem in Southeast Asia. Luang Prabang is hailed as one of the region’s best preserved cities thanks to its age old charm. Enveloped by the surrounding jungle clad hills, the city is a patchwork of old French facades sitting cheek by jowl with ornately decorated temples, which conjure up a romance and mystery found nowhere else in the world.

Ease into a gentler pace of life, beat the crowds and plan your days around early starts, leisurely siestas and late afternoon activities. Avoiding the heat of the midday sun is the best way to explore the hidden gems of Laos and Cambodia with family, friends or a loved one on the holiday of a lifetime.
