Game Drives in Kafue
Interpretive game drives in open vehicles allow guests to view large numbers of plains game such as puku, red lechwe, buffalo and wildebeest and even the rare roan antelope. The famous lions of Kafue, cheetah and wild dog are also to be seen.
Kafue National Park is Africa's last hidden gem, and at 22,400 km sq. it is one of the largest National Parks in Africa. This area has remained largely untouched by development so remains a unique and pristine wilderness with sublime scenery, game viewing and bird watching.
The wildlife of Kafue is more diverse than any park in Africa, with an abundance of big game, including elephants, lion, buffalo, leopard, and even cheetah. It is also home to one of the last remaining viable populations of the rare, endangered African dog. Interpretive game drives also allow guests to view large numbers of plains game such as puku, red lechwe, buffalo and wildebeest and even the rare roan antelope. Although the diversity land animals is impressive, it pales into insignificance when considering that Kafue is home to almost 500 species of bird.
