Bolaven Plateau Loop
Enjoy a full day’s adventure exploring the stunning Bolaven Plateau in southern Laos. Visit the region’s coffee plantations, take in glittering waterfalls, and learn about the area’s fascinating hilltribe cultures.
Accompanied by your guide, journey up to the Bolaven Plateau, which ranges between 600 to 1,350 metres above sea level. Visit the Tad Fane waterfalls; twin falls which drop over 120 metres, and the wider Tad Yuang waterfall which flows nearby.
Whilst Laos is not necessarily known for its coffee, these beans are actually the country’s biggest export. Spend some time exploring the Sinouk Coffee Plantation, where you will learn about the cultivation, harvesting and processing of the beans. This is also the place where you will enjoy a delicious home-cooked lunch and have the opportunity to participate in a coffee tasting.
On your way back from the plateau, stop off to admire the impressive Tad Lo waterfalls from a distance, and then should you wish, take a short walk to base of the falls where you can have a swim. You will also visit Ban Houay Houn, a village inhabited by the Katu tribe. Here you can learn about their day-to-day life and culture, including their unique weaving skills.
You will usually set off for this tour at approximately 08.00 and return to your hotel at around 17.00.
