With Christmas and New Year out of the way, mutterings fill the room of ‘New Year, New Me’, NutriBullets fly off the shelves and elaborate juice diets are being thought up by optimistic souls. But more often than not, by the end of January ‘Old Me’ is back with a vengeance, the NutriBullet is collecting dust and cupboards full of snacks are being devoured. It was all a nice idea, but it rarely lasts. This year, we’re giving all that a miss. Instead, we’ve made travel-focused resolutions that we believe we can sustain, and by the end of the year we’re aiming to have satisfied our wanderlust by fulfilling each of our resolutions. Why not join us? Click on the below images to find out our favourite ways to fulfill each resolution.
Spot wildlife you’ve never seen before
Here at Imagine we’re a team of wildlife enthusiasts, and between us we’ve spotted a vast array of creatures. Spotting a new species for the first time is a really exciting moment, and we’ve put together our top three elusive animals that we find the most rewarding to spot…
Wild dogs are one of the smaller inhabitants of the African bush, and traditionally they haven’t always been glorified in the way that the Big Five have been. However, amongst safari aficionados that have been there, done that and got the Big Five t-shirt, wild dog sightings are increasingly becoming the measure of a successful safari. Despite their size, the speed, stamina and pack mentality of wild dogs mean they can bring down animals ten times their own weight. Their tactic? Working as a team and wearing down their prey over long distances. As a result, wild dog chases can be some of the most exciting and tactical chases to take place on the African plains, and if you’re lucky enough to witness one of these, it is not something you will forget in a hurry.
The Selous Game Reserve is Africa’s largest game reserve and offers great chances of spotting wild dogs. Head off on our Selous Game Reserve and Zanzibar itinerary to go in search of these elusive creatures. Give us a call on 020 3141 2800 to start planning your trip.
Komodo dragons are endemic to Indonesia and are the largest lizards in the world, growing to up to three metres in length and weighing up to 70kg. They can be found on the islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang, and Padar. With 2,000 of the 5,000 dragons in existence living on Flores Island, this is where you will find the largest population of these elusive creatures. Personally though, we recommend Rinca Island as our favourite place to spot these mystical creatures. Spend a day trekking through the jungle and searching for the Komodo hiding in the grassy undergrowth, waiting for its prey.

The famed and mystical Bengal tiger is one of the most elusive creatures on the planet, and spotting one of these whilst on holiday in India is certainly something we can never guarantee. Arguably though, the fact these majestic animals are so difficult to track down makes it even more rewarding when you do, and regardless of your luck, the amazing backdrop of the steaming jungle makes for a truly unique holiday experience. With our expert guides, your chances of spotting one or more tigers on your journey into Jungle Book territory are higher than average, and we’ve had an excellent success rate on recent trips.
