You can even cruise between the two along the historic Mekong River.

This courtyard-style resort is a popular choice among the design-conscious, thanks to US architect Bill Bensley, renown for creating exotic luxury resorts. At Shinta Mani Shack the aim was to create a retro-feel with custom-designed furniture, handcrafted light fittings and carefully curated artwork. The result is a chic and stylish contemporary hotel well-located for visiting the temples of Angkor, which are just a 15-minute walk away, as well as sampling the delights of Siem Reap, just a 10-minute stroll away. The airport is a 20-minute drive from the hotel.
The interior décor has been designed using a largely monochrome palette with soft furnishings and accessories offering bright pops of colour. The rooms and suites are centred around the pool courtyard at the heart of the resort and the individually-styled rooms create a bold statement with custom-designed bed, mirrored wall, Bluetooth connectivity, flat-screen TV with Sound Bar and exclusive artwork. Poolside Garden Rooms have terraces that give direct access to the tropical gardens and pool, while Poolview Rooms are located on the first floor and enjoy balcony views. The spacious Junior and Executive Suites have separate living areas and are located on the second floor of the building. The property shares dining options and a spa with the sister hotel over the road, Shinta Mani Angkor. This gives guests a choice of five dining options including the excellent and onsite Bai Tong restaurant serving International dishes and Khmer street food, while over the road the Kroya restaurant focuses on traditional Khmer cuisine. There is also an American-style steakhouse, The Steakhouse At Pub Street, Bensley’s Bar and Poolside refreshments alongside Shinta Mani Shack’s beautiful poolside terrace.
Guests will love the pool area and terrace and a stay here includes the use of the Shinta Mani Spa in the sister hotel. Bikes can be rented for exploring the area and cooking classes are on offer on a private and group basis. We think Shinta Mani Shack is a great option for exploring Siem Reap and the surrounding temples and will appeal to those who enjoy modern Asian design.
When to go
Cambodia is hot all year round and the best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. It starts to get wetter in May and the wettest months are September and October. It is still possible to visit during this time as rain usually falls as short sharp storms. November is a fantastic month to visit Cambodia as it is very green after the rainy season and the lakes and rivers are full of water.
