Offering suite-style accommodation, Rancho Pescadero is a fun hotel, suitable for families and couples. In Baja, it’s all about the sun, sea, sand and of course, the surf. Visitors will delight in Baja's unforgiving sunshine, sugary white sand, twinkling turquoise waters and the great abundance of tropical wildlife. With plenty of opportunities for spa treatments and sunbathing, we also encourage guests to get out and enjoy the marine life in the area; take a day trip out on a boat to spot breathing whales and playful dolphins, or go diving or snorkelling in some of the best reefs in the world. Guests can also try their hand at fishing with local Pangeros. Spend up to 5 hours fishing for Mahi Mahi and enjoy a picnic lunch on the boat. In the morning, guests can take free yoga classes on the beach for a relaxing experience by the ocean. Cooking and Mixology classes are also on offer for those who want to sample fresh local cuisine and create their own cocktails.
After an exciting day exploring Baja’s gems, head down for dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. Fish is picked out of the ocean and delivered daily, herbs are plucked from the hotel’s own organic gardens and meat is pulled from the farms that dot the peninsula. The Garden Restaurant is the place to be in the evenings, with the kitchen and dining area in one space under a large palapa. Serving up wood fired pizzas and fresh food on the outdoor grill, food is lip-smackingly good with a contemporary Mexican flair.
The accommodations are modern and feature private patios or outdoor seating areas offering panoramic ocean views. There are natural bath products handmade in Baja in each room, as well as beach bags, yoga mats and games!
When to go
Without a doubt the best season to visit Baja is during the whale migration between December and March. The weather in Baja is at its warmest between these months too, but also bring high hotel prices.
