Covering 15,000 hectares, Nkomazi Game Reserve offers guests tranquillity and the opportunity to witness free-roaming wildlife in the surrounding landscapes, as well as some of the oldest rock formations on the planet. The reserve is able to offer a home and habitat to both high and lowveld game species which can be spotted whilst on a game drive.
Nkomzai houses ten luxury tents at Komati Tented Lodge, all of which are designed to blend in with the natural landscape and furnished with luxury campaign style furniture giving the tents an 'Out of Africa' feel. Each tent contains en-suite facilities with an indoor shower and outside bath, air conditioning, private mini-bar, electronic safe, fitted international adapters, as well as private sun decks with a private plunge pool. Communal areas include a dining tent, an outdoor dining area for those balmy evenings and a Majilis lounge tent with viewing deck.
A range of activities are on offer, with game drives around the reserve as well as guided nature walks providing an exciting opportunity for guests to explore the reserve and tracking and getting closer to some of the smaller plant and insect species. The lodge also offers mountain biking around the reserve, perfect for those seeking a thrill and adventure. When to go
The Panorama Region is defined by its breathtaking scenery and magnificent rock formations covered in rich and varied plant life which is influenced by extreme climate and a range of altitudes. Temperatures remain fairly consistent throughout the year, however, the best months to visit are from August to November.
