Located in a former historic home in the leafy Roma district of Mexico City, Nima provides chic and comfortable accommodation. The neutral palette complemented by lush plants, high ceilings, large ornate windows, wrought iron balconies and a charming rooftop garden, creates a wonderful sense of peace and calm. The staff are warm, welcoming and a font of knowledge about the city they love and their attention to detail makes guests feel extra special. In a fantastic location for restaurants, bars, shops and cafes and only one kilometre from Mexico City’s historic centre, we think a stay at Nima would suit couples looking for a relaxed, romantic and secluded stay in this exciting city.
Each room is tastefully-appointed and individually styled, but all are spacious, airy, chic and plush with en-suite bathroom, complete with rain shower, fresh flowers, a pillow menu, premium linens, flat-screen TV with Netflix, minibar, black out shade, plug adapter, WiFi, safe, air-conditioning and daily cookies. Rates include breakfast which is served on the rooftop terrace and while there is no restaurant as such, the staff are happy to whip you something up to enjoy in your room or anywhere else in the property.
There is a small spa offering massage treatments and plenty of shared space up on the roof terrace or in the lounge to find a private spot for relaxing. This is a charming boutique hotel which we think will appeal to couples and those looking for a more personal environment as a base for exploring the vibrant charms of Mexico City, rather than staying in a larger hotel.
When to go
At this altitude (2240m above sea level), Mexico City rarely gets too hot therefore can be enjoyed at any time of year. The hotter months of May and June, and the rainy season (June-September), when the capital experiences a downpour most afternoons may want to be avoided. Pollution is in maximum effect in the hot, dry season of spring, from late February to early May. Busy times include the MACO Contemporary Arts Festival (April), the Pride march (late June), the Cake Festival (August) and Fashion Week (October).
