You will be provided with a duffle bag which will be taken by our porters to the tents every night – you should fill it with clean clothes and all toiletries you’ll need for the night time. Built in contemporary hacienda style, the hotel exudes the essence of rich Andean culture and has a lovely and warm atmosphere. With included excursions, your stay will be planned with the utmost care and attention to ensure you get the most out of your adventure in the Urubamba Valley. Spanning approximately 100 acres of beautiful Peruvian countryside, Hacienda Urubamba sits in a stunning location with endless opportunities for adventure right on it’s doorstep.
After spending the day visiting an ecological farm or hiking the Challa Huasi Trail, guests can retreat to some luxurious comfort back at the lodge. The excursions have ranging difficulty levels, with some being more appropriate for young families and others suiting older generations. Children will enjoy visiting the farm, learning about the harvesting of crops and their natural properties, as well as learning about the production of ‘Chicha de Jora’ – an ancient Peruvian drink. Couples will delight in taking a trail walk at sunset whilst discovering the importance of astronomy in the Andean world. Those perhaps more interested in the wildlife can take a bird watching tour and use the various trails to look for hawks, hummingbirds and others. River rafting, horseback riding and visits to traditional communities and archaeological sites are also available at an additional cost. In the evening, an earth-to-table concept is operated – in fact, the hotel pick its own produce from a selection of carbon-free crops including quinoa and giant corn to create delicious meals for its guests.
There are 12 rooms in Casa Hacienda, all decorated with unique Peruvian architecture and handcrafted ornaments. The stand-along luxury casitas are just that; luxurious and quite spectacular. Each one immerses guests in serenity and solitude as they look out onto the Valley and see nothing but majestic mountains, enormous swaying trees and miles of pristine green landscape. The interiors, much like the rooms are inspired on the area’s cultural history, with wooden furniture, hand crafted blankets and wall hangings – adding to the hotels local charm.
