You will be provided with a duffle bag which will be taken by our porters to the tents every night – you should fill it with clean clothes and all toiletries you’ll need for the night time. Set within an exclusive 25-acre estate teeming with birdlife, indigenous and exotic flora, the Hotel Sol y Luna is just a kilometre from Urubamba between the famous market of Pisac and the Inca archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, and offers the perfect base for exploring one of the most intriguing parts of the Andes. There are 43 stand-alone casitas, each with a lovely private verandah edged by flower gardens. All are constructed from natural materials from the valley including adobe, wood, stone and clay. The interior design reflects the typical Andean décor, with earth tones, local woods and details created by local artisans. There are also two-story family bungalows available with bedrooms on both floors, and suites that have bedrooms on the first floor and a living room on the second. The surrounding countryside is home to fascinating Inca ruins including Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Maras and Moray and is an excellent departure point for the awe-inspiring lost city of Machu Picchu. April to November is the best time to visit Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. The rainy season is typically from December to March, with the heaviest rains arriving in January and February.
