When to go
The best time to visit Hermanus is from July to November, and although temperatures may be a little cooler from July to October (from 8°C to 20°C or 46°F to 68°F) this is when the southern right whale migration makes their way around the South African coast. As well as heading out on a boat to see these magnificent animals, land-based whale watching is also possible in the area. Travelling from November to March will bring warmer weather, but unlikely views of the whale migration.
