Jungle and beach holidays
Carpeted with dense, wildlife-rich jungles and lined with a dazzling coast, combine the jungle and beach in Latin America for a memorable holiday.
Much of Costa Rica is covered in jungles and tropical forest, which is home to 5% of the world’s biodiversity. A great place to see this natural wonderland at its best is at the Corcovado National Park, where you will find swampy mangroves, criss-crossing rivers and wild, empty beaches. Cano Island, situated off the shores of the park, offers clear waters and pristine coral reefs rich in exotic marine life. Soak up the sun on the beach or swim alongside manta rays, white-tipped sharks and turtles.
Brazil is blessed with both a large portion of the wildlife strewn Amazon and a number of secluded desert island beaches. A great way to explore the jungle and its huge rivers is to embark on a river cruise, which allows you to navigate the dense foliage with ease and get up-close encounters with wildlife in the river and on its banks. It’s also a great opportunity to visit some of the indigenous communities and learn about their way of life in the Amazon. Our beach option of choice Ilha Grande, where idyllic white sand beaches and blue waters invite you to kick back.
As well as a slice of the Amazon, Ecuador offers incredible cloud forests filled with moss covered trees, strikingly coloured orchids and incredible wildlife. Make use of the many hiking trails that cut a path through the vegetation to discover hidden delights. A jungle exploration combines well with Ecuador’s southern coast, lined with secluded beaches and bays perfect for enjoying the sunshine. Los Frailes Beach is considered the most beautiful beach in Ecuador, with warm turquoise waters, soft white sand and a backdrop of wild vegetation.
