October

As the British summer comes to a close, summer in Burma is only just beginning. The beach resorts throughout the country begin to open as October sets in, making this the perfect time to beat the crowds and see Burma at its best.

October is the transitional period in Burma, when the rains are drawing to a close and the temperature begins to rise, making it the perfect time to enjoy the delights which fringe Burma’s rugged coastline. Make the most of the beautiful sunbathing conditions and warm waters of the Bay of Bengal, or head deep into the jungle and explore the remote ruins at Mrauk U.

The temperatures are also beginning to heat up in the hillside areas, and with warmer nights this is the best time to enjoy excursions and trekking throughout this stunning region.

October is also a wonderful time to head to Laos. As the rainy season comes to a close the water levels throughout the country are still relatively high, and the numerous waterfalls that are dotted around the Mekong region are at their most spectacular. There is still a chance of rain throughout the month, but with temperatures in the thirties a quick shower often offers a welcome respite from the heat.
