Cambodia and Vietnam
Cambodia and Vietnam complement each other beautifully: Cambodia has a more laid back charm while Vietnam is the beating heart of Indochina, with fast paced ancient cities. Even in 10 days, you can combine Cambodia and Vietnam with ease, but we’d recommend a little longer to do these wonderful countries justice. You can even cruise between the two along the historic Mekong River.
The fabled temples of Angkor are, of course, the major draw to Cambodia but there is so much more to the country - the amazing warmth of the Khmer people, untouched beaches and remote, off-the-beaten track wilderness areas that are home elephants and hill tribes. With layers of history from the prosperity of the Angkorian era to the tragedies under the Khmer Rouge in the twentieth century, there is much to discover. Vietnam is a colourful land where street markets and stunning scenery abound. The iconic limestone karsts of Halong Bay have to be seen to be believed. Colonial architecture echoes French Indochina. And of course it would be remiss not to mention the wonderful cuisine!
