August remains mid-peak season for wildlife viewing in some of Zambia and Tanzania’s best national parks. It is the ideal time to explore the region of South Luangwa by foot and visit the Busanga Plains in Kafue, Zambia. Why not make the most of the large abundance of wildlife in the Tarangire National Park, Tanzania, a knock on effect from its permanent water source.
The more than ideal weather conditions on and off the Kenyan coastline make its beaches and surrounding islands the perfect destination this time of year. Why not relax on the white sandy beaches of Zanzibar’s Spice Island and enjoy the tranquil paradise that surrounds you. There is still plenty of opportunity to witness the wildebeest migrations in Kenya, the humpback whale migrations in Madagascar and Mozambique, gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda and the excellent game viewing in Botswana’s Okavango Delta.
Whale watching season in South Africa has begun, the perfect opportunity to witness these magnificent creatures; just remember, the later in the season you go the better the weather! Towards the end of the month, travel to Namaqualand to witness the blossoming of its desert flowers.
