Zambia Honeymoon Ideas
Zambia is a wonderfully romantic honeymoon destination. It is still relatively off-the-beaten track and offers some really spectacular landscapes and wildlife. Famed for the magnificent Victoria Falls, the Zambezi River and the quiet and remote national parks. Zambia lies landlocked at the heart of Africa and is blessed with some of the most remote and unspoilt wildlife locations in Africa.
Its main safari areas offer exceptional game viewing – and have a well established network of small safari lodges and bush camps (most of which are owner run) that offer an authentic and romantic ‘bush’ experience.
The breathtaking Victoria Falls, which Zambia shares with its neighbour Zimbabwe, are a must-see. The properties we recommend in this area are within about 30 minutes of the Falls, to offer proximity but also some peace and quiet away from the Falls, that we feel honeymooners are looking for.
There is also a wide range of adventure activities available (including white water rafting, bungee jumping and abseiling) for the more active honeymooners! Diverse landscapes include the Luangwa valley and the Lower Zambezi National Park which both have abundant wildlife.
The Luangwa valley is known for some of the best big cat sightings in Africa – but also is one of the most unspoilt safari areas in southern Africa. The Lower Zambezi National Park provides a rich range of wildlife thanks to the Zambezi River and the fertile ecosystem created by it.
Both the Luangwa valley and the Lower Zambezi are home to small, luxury camps that are mostly owner run – which always adds to any honeymoon itinerary, to ensure a personal and special experience.
