Tanzania Safari Holidays
Tanzania is a fantastic destination for safaris. In the north there is the Serengeti which has some of the highest wildlife concentration in the country and is one of the best places to see the Big Five (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo). It is also famous for the migration of over a million wildebeest which is undoubtedly one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife events.
Other options include the Ngorongoro Crater which is the largest intact crater in the world with an abundance of wildlife, and Lake Manyara which is probably the most picturesque of the northern safari parks.
In the south there is the Selous Game Reserve which is the largest reserve in Africa; it is the size of Switzerland. The park supports a wide variety of wildlife including elephant, lion, leopard, hippo, buffalo, giraffe, crocodile and many antelope and bird species.
The southern circuit is also home to Ruaha National Park which despite being Tanzania’s largest game reserve, is the least visited. It makes for an extremely rewarding place to go on safari with few tourists.
