Sabi Sands Game Reserve
Sabi Sands Game Reserve is one of the most famous private reserves in Africa. Offering a huge concentration of wildlife, it is widely regarded as the place to go in search of the Big Five, particularly if you’re hoping to track leopard. With a range of luxury lodges and safari activities to enjoy, you will return from Sabi Sands with some stunning photographs and memories.
First established in 1898, Sabi Sands Game Reserve dates back as far as the Kruger itself. Located to the west of the Kruger National Park, the reserve has an open border with the park, meaning the game can move freely between the two. The reserve is famous for its frequent sightings of leopard, who come to drink at the two rivers. In fact, the plentiful sources of water in the reserve, attract all manner of wildlife, making Sabi Sands one of the best game viewing locations in the whole of Africa.
There is first-class guiding and you can experience both game and night drives, away from the crowds and vehicles of the national park. What’s more, you can drive off-road to get deep into the bush, which is great for close sightings of the wildlife. We’d also suggest taking a bush walk, accompanied by an armed ranger. On foot, you’ll get a completely different safari experience and may get the thrill of approaching wildlife to a very short distance.
