The ultimate safari in Zambia and Zimbabwe awaits with this trip which combines the wilds of the South Luangwa in Zambia. Outstanding wildlife sightings are on offer in the valley which is known for leopard and is also home to walking safaris - getting out on foot here is a real must! A few days visiting Victoria Falls is the perfect relaxation with plenty of activities to keep you occupied should you wish. You will then cross into Zimbabwe to continue the wonderful safari experience. Your first stop will be Hwange which is known for its incredible elephant population and offers the chance to get off-the-beaten-track with wonderful guiding to boot. You will then fly to Mana Pools which not only offers fantastic wildlife, but varied activities with canoeing, boat safaris and fishing as well as the chance to sleep out under the stars in a tree house!
Days 1 - 4 : South Luangwa, Zambia
Stay at Lion Camp for 3 nights
On arrival into Lusaka you will be flown by light aircraft to Mfuwe, the gateway to the South Luangwa National Park. Upon landing you will be met by your guide and driven deep into the park to Lion Camp in a particularly remote and wild area. You will spend three nights here with all meals, house drinks, park fees and game viewing activities included. Lion Camp has an amazing location in one of the quietest parts of the South Luangwa but in an area of exceptional wildlife sightings. Overlooking an oxbow lagoon, plenty of game comes to the lodge with the swimming pool being popular with elephants. Game drives and night drives are on offer as well as the chance to go on walking safaris, which were pioneered in the Luangwa Valley and offer the chance to learn more about the bush on a microscopic level.
Days 4 - 7 : Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park
Stay at Toka Leya for 3 nights
Today you will be game driven back to Mfuwe Airport in time for your light aircraft flight to Livingstone (via Lusaka). Upon arrival you will be met and privately transferred to Toka Leya which has a beautiful setting on the banks of the Zambezi in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, just upstream of Victoria Falls. You will spend three nights here with all meals, house drinks and selected activities included. As well as visiting the Falls themselves, you can go on river cruises, game drives, nature walks and enjoy fishing, community visits, fishing and rhino tracking.
Days 7 - 10 : Hwange
Stay at Linkwasha Camp for 3 nights
Today you will be transferred to Hwange National Park, famed for its impressive elephant sightings and offering a traditional yet wild safari. You will stay at Linkwasha Camp for three nights with all meals, house drinks, park fees and game viewing activities included. Linkwasha Camp has an impressive setting in a private concession in the south-eastern corner of Hwange overlooking a pan which attracts a wide variety of game during the dry season. Activities on offer include game drives, walking safaris, evening drives which allow you to spot nocturnal species such as caracal, pangolin and porcupine as well as an authentic village village.
Days 10 - 13 : Mana Pools National Park, Zimbabwe
Stay at Ruckomechi Camp for 3 nights
After a final game drive this morning you will be flown by light aircraft to Mana Pools National Park in the spectacular Lower Zambezi valley. You will stay at Ruckomechi Camp for three nights with all meals, house drinks and game viewing activities included. Situated in a private concession, Ruckomechi Camp has a wonderful setting on the banks of the Zambezi River with breath-taking views across the river to Zambia and the Rift Valley backdrop. The game viewing in this area is wonderful with fantastic elephant sightings in particular - there's something really special about watching them swimming across the river from Zimbabwe to Zambia. Activities are varied with game drives and bush walks on offer as well as river cruises and fishing which are two of the key Mana Pools experiences. A truly unique experience which is not to be missed at Ruckomechi Camp is the opportunity to sleep out under the stars overlooking a waterhole! For those afternoons where you just fancy relaxing in camp there is a great pool with direct views over the Zambezi which makes the most of all of the passing game.
Day 13 : Mana Pools - Harare
This morning you will go on a final game drive before being flown by light aircraft back to Harare. Your arrival marks the end of your Zambian and Zimbabwean safari adventure.
