Days 1 - 4 : Beijing
Stay at The Opposite House for 3 nights
Begin your adventure around China with a 3 night stay in the fascinating capital city Beijing.
You will spend the time with your own driver and guide exploring all parts of the city and beyond.
You will head to visit the Temple of Heaven first thing in the morning where you will witness local people engaging in activities ranging from Tai Chi to tango. The next stop is the Forbidden City which includes a walk through the famous Tiananmen Square.
The next day you will travel north out of Beijing to enjoy a hike along the Great Wall of China. You will be taken to the Mutianyu section to avoid the crowds.
A stop will be made at the Imperial Summer Palace on the way back to your hotel.
Days 4 - 6 : Xian
Stay at Sofitel Legend Peoples Grand Xian for 2 nights
Bid Beijing farewell today as you take a short flight to Xian.
The afternoon will be spent in the city where you will be taken to see the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda.
The following morning you will be taken to visit the site of the Terracotta Warriors, where you will get to see the statues in the 3 pits currently accessible.
In the afternoon you will head back into Xian to enjoy a cycling tour around the ancient city wall.
Days 6 - 8 : Yangshuo
Stay at Banyan Tree Yangshuo for 2 nights
A short flight from Xian will bring you to Guilin, the gateway to some of southern China's most spectacular rural areas.
Yangshuo is a small market town that has sprung up in the last 15 years as travellers head to see the picturesque hills that provide the most stunning of backdrops.
Your time in Yangshuo is free to make your own arrangements. You may wish to enjoy a local cooking class or for something more active you can set out on a long cycling trip around the local area.
Day 8 - 9 : Longsheng
Stay at Li An Lodge for 1 night
Today you will make your way to Longsheng. A stop will be made at the Huangluo Yao Village that is inhabited by the people of the Red Yao minority.
Upon reaching your hotel you will be taken for a walk along the Dragon's Backbone, one of the most beautiful stretches of rice terraces in the whole of China.
Days 9 - 12 : Shanghai
Stay at Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund for 3 nights
After transferring back to Guilin Airport you will catch a flight to Shanghai, where your time in China draws to a close.
Set out early the next day as you enjoy a cycling tour around parts of Old Shanghai, all on the comfort of a lovingly restored 1940s China Pigeon Bike. Time will be spent exploring the Former French Concession, Fuxing Park and Penglai Road to really immerse yourself in local life.
Your guide will then accompany you on a walk around the Old Town in the afternoon where you will visit the famous Yu Garden.
Your last day takes you on a full day trip to Suzhou water town; known as one of the "Venice's of China". You will enjoy a rickshaw ride before exploring the impressive Humble Administrator's Garden and the Master of the Nets Garden.
