A brilliant trip for wildlife and beach lovers! Travel the canals of Tortuguero searching for sloth's, toucans and other fascinating species, enjoy rappelling above the treetops in Arenal, explore the Monteverde cloud forest with its array of flora and fauna and end indulging on the laid-back beaches of the Nicoya Peninsula.
Day 1 - 2 : San Jose
Stay at Grano de Oro for 1 night
Upon arrival, airport reception and private transfer to your hotel in San Jose.
Days 2 - 4 : Tortuguero, Costa Rica
Stay at Tortuga Lodge for 2 nights
From San Jose you will be transferred by road to the edge of Tortuguero National Park. There are no roads in to Tortuguero, so from the airport you must take an exciting boat trip to your lodge. During your stay here, you will explore the canals for howler monkeys, colourful poison-arrow frogs and hike in the Tortuguero National Park. The area is also considered one of the world's major nesting sites for the Atlantic green turtle; you can see these amazing creatures between July and October, spotting a multitude of wildlife.
Days 4 - 6 : La Fortuna, Costa Rica
Stay at Arenal Nayara for 2 nights
Enjoy a scenic boat ride back to the port in time for lunch before transferring overland to Arenal. During your time here, enjoy a number of activities to explore the area which include a visit to the Tabacon Hot springs, a rappelling tour, hiking to hidden waterfalls and zip lining above the treetops of the Arenal reserve.
Days 6 - 8 : Monteverde, Costa Rica
Stay at Hotel Belmar for 2 nights
Depart Arenal and transfer across the Arenal Lake to reach Monteverde. Visit the biodiverse Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve which is dense with a multitude of trees, plants and flowers as well as a huge array of bird species and wildlife.
Days 8 - 12 : Santa Teresa, Costa Rica
Stay at Latitude 10 for 4 nights
Check out and transfer to your luxury hotel on the shores of the Pacific Coast in Santa Teresa. Days at leisure to relax by the pool, swim in the ocean, indulge yourself at the in-house spa or if you are feeling more adventurous try a surf lesson, horseback riding or a zip lining trip.
Day 12 - 13 : Alajuela
Stay at Xandari Resort & Spa for 1 night
After breakfast check out and transfer back to San Jose (approximately four hours). Upon arrival check into your hotel located in the stunning highland setting and spend the afternoon at leisure exploring the gardens or relax by the pool on your last evening.
Note: If you dont fancy the long transfer, a flight from Santa Teresa to San Jose is available at additional cost.
Day 13 : Flight Home
Today, transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
