Islands further east, such as Lombok, Flores and Komodo, experience more pronounced seasonal differences, with monsoon rains in the wet season and periods of drought in the dry season. The eastern islands of Java, Sumatra and Bali experience more intermittent rainfall in the wet season, when visitors can benefit from cooler temperatures and reduced crowds.
