This nine night itinerary has the perfect mix of action, adventure and relaxation. We've handpicked some of southern Africa's best destinations and combined them into one itinerary. Begin your holiday in cosmopolitan Cape Town where culture, history and adventure combine to create a city that has it all; from shopping, restaurants and bars, to scenic landscapes, beaches and wildlife. Then, heading onto the Sabi Sands Reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park, you will have three days to track game, spot some incredible wildlife and enjoy the sights and sounds of the bush, offering up something completely at odds with city life. Finally, a flight up to Livingstone in Zambia will bring you face-to-face with the mighty Zambezi River and one of the seven natural wonders of the world - Victoria Falls. Here you can enjoy a variety of water based activities, from boat cruises to fishing, or simply indulge in some relaxation by the swimming pool.
Days 1 - 4 : Cape Town, South Africa
Stay at Cape Cadogan for 3 nights
On arrival into Cape Town International Airport you will be met and privately transferred to Cape Cadogan, an elegant boutique hotel located in central Cape Town. You will spend the next three nights here with breakfast included.
Located just off the stylish Kloof Street, Cape Cadogan is steeped in heritage and history in a beautiful building. It is perfectly situated for an evening walk to bars and restaurants, and for days exploring the city and surrounds.
Not only is Cape Town a foodie heaven, it has a rich history and culture that is crying out to be explored. Head to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens for a relaxing picnic, take a surf lesson on a nearby beach, hike or take a cable car up Table Mountain and visit the penguins at Boulders Beach, your options are endless!
Days 4 - 7 : Sabi Sands, South Africa
Stay at Kirkman's Kamp for 3 nights
This morning you will drop your hire car at Cape Town International Airport in time for your flight to Nelspruit Airport, just outside of the Kruger. On arrival into Nelspruit, you will be met and privately transferred to Kirkman's Kamp in the Sabi Sand Reserve where you will spend the next three nights on a fully inclusive basis.
The Sabi Sand Reserve is famed for its wildlife sightings. Here it is not uncommon to spot the 'Big Five' on game drives, or even animals closer to the lodge, like warthog snuffling around the Kirkman's lawns. For the more brave, a walking safari is also on offer where you could track animals, spot some smaller species and learn about some of the flora and fauna of the region.
Days 7 - 10 : Near Victoria Falls, Zambia
Stay at Waterberry Lodge for 3 nights
This morning you will be transferred back to Nelspruit Airport where you will catch a flight to Livingstone International Airport in Zambia. On arrival you will be met and privately transferred to Waterberry Lodge loacted on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. You will spend the next three nights here on a fully inclusive basis.
Located just upstream from Victoria Falls, Waterberry offers an excellent location not only for a day trip to the Falls, but also for unsurpassed views across the Zambezi River. Aside from the breathtaking Victoria Falls, you could enjoy river cruises, island picnics, fishing, birding and visits to local markets. A relaxing end to round off an activity filled trip.
Day 10 : Livingstone - Johannesburg - London
On your final day in Zambia you will be transferred back to Livingstone Airport where you will catch a flight to Johannesburg Airport for your connecting flight back to London.
When to go
Cape Town is a year-round destination, with its driest months running from November through to February where skies are generally clear and the sun is shining, and temperatures range from 15°C to 35°C (59°F to 95°F). The winter months run from May to August, the weather is cooler, at around 7°C to 18°C (45°F to 65°F), with the wettest month being June with around 93mm of rain falling and the odd thunderstorm making an appearance.

Things to do
During low water (August-January), take a dip in the ultimate infinity pool whilst visiting Livingstone Island perched on the lip of Victoria Falls. Not for the faint heart, an exhilarating plunge into the pool is our top Livingstone recommendation.
Hike up Lion's Head
The 1-2 hour hike up and down Lion's Head in Cape Town is an easy hike for the walking-fit. Day or after-sunset hikes give you fantastic views over Cape Town, Table Mountain, Atlantic and Camps Bay areas.
Horseriding on Noordhoek Beach
For a unique day out in Cape Town, take a horseback ride along the five-mile long, picturesque Noordhoek Beach. Noordhoek is the longest beach in Cape Town and has spectacular views of Table Mountain and the Chapman's Peak.
