Wind Cave & Clearwater Cave Tour
Explore the Clearwater and Wind Caves, two of the most stunning caves in Mulu National Park reached by a leisurely boat ride through winding rivers.
Embark on a 30 to 40 minute boat journey to the Wind Cave, with a short stop on the way at the Penan settlement, a small community where you can learn about their nomadic lifestyle and perhaps pick up some souvenirs at a small handicraft market. As you arrive at the Wind Cave, you will need to climb a few stairs to the entrance where you are greeted with striking rock calcite formations. Spend some time exploring the cave and its particularly impressive King's Chamber, before taking a short ten minute walk to Clearwater Spring.
From Clearwater Spring, you will need to climb about 200 steps to reach Clearwater Cave, with further steps inside. However, those who make the climb are rewarded with arguably the most impressive cave in all of Mulu National Park, with an astonishingly extensive system of cave passages, known to be the longest in South-East Asia with many of the passages still yet to be explored. After a simple picnic lunch at Clearwater Spring, and perhaps a refreshing dip in the spring water, you will transferred back to your hotel.
