Watersports in Mauritius
Mauritius is the perfect playground if you're looking for an active holiday. With extensive facilities and loads of activities to choose from, there will be plenty to keep you busy if you're looking to do more than relax.
Mauritius is almost entirely circled by a coral reef, and snorkelling is a must for any holiday. Most hotels offer complimentary snorkelling trips (with fins and snorkels provided), but if you want to go further afield, try The Blue Bay Marine Park. Or head off on a glass bottom boat trip for the perfect way to explore Mauritius' underwater life without getting your feet wet. Trips offered comp from some hotels or again, head down to the Blue Bay Marine Park, and look out for the colourful coral and tropical fish there.
Water-skiing is one of the most popular water sports in Mauritius. It is offered from most hotels, some on a complimentary basis, though lessons and private sessions can also be arranged for a fee. The north, with its calm sea, is particularly popular. Most hotels also offer complimentary windsurfing, sailing, and use of pedal boats and kayaks etc. Just speak to your consultant to find out which activities and facilities are included complimentary at your preferred hotel.
