Walking Tour into the heart of the Old Fort
A walking tour into the heart of the old fort area of Mumbai, visiting the Victoria Terminus, Heritage Mile, Flora Fountain, the historic district of Kala Ghoda, Churchgate Station and the Dhobi Ghat.
The walking tour starts at FW Steven’s gothic masterpiece, the grand Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus, also known as the Victoria Terminus. The tour continues down DN Road, also called the Heritage Mile, which is one of the oldest parts of the city and is reminiscent of its colonial past. The rest of the walking tour includes the ornate Flora Fountain, the charming historic district of Kala Ghoda, the Gateway of India, the University Library and many other political buildings. The tour ends by visiting Churchgate Station, which is where the Dhabawalas (the lunch delivery men) sort out their hot lunches to be delivered. After a short train ride you will end up at the Dhobi Ghat, where hundreds of people do their laundry.
