The hour and a half journey is incredibly scenic as you pass through green mountains an over raging rivers right into the heart of Japan.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Shirakawa-go is a beautiful farming village surrounded by hills and snowcapped mountains, making for one of the most scenic destinations in Japan. Its highlight though are the Gassho-zukkuri houses. Translating as ‘praying hands’, these triangular farmhouses feature in several rural communities, but in Shirakawa have been beautifully restored and maintained with the efforts of the local farming community.
Your guide will show you take you around and inside the houses, high up to a scenic viewpoint and help you discover the villages hidden gems before you enjoy a traditional lunch of thick soba noodles before your bus back to Kanazawa, were you will be escorted back to your hotel.
