Ubud Art and Culture
Discover Bali’s cultural heartland with a tour of Ubud, visiting the Neka Art Museum which celebrates the art and culture of the island, browsing the artisan markets and shops and a chance to wander around Ubud Palace, the home of the royal family.
Ubud is not only Bali’s cultural heartland, but located amid ravines, dense forest and verdant paddy fields, it is also one of the island’s most attractive towns. The tour starts with a chance to explore the art and cultural heritage of Bali with a trip to the Neka Art Museum, a highlight being the collection of keris, beautifully crafted daggers recognized by UNESCO for their cultural importance within Indonesia. Although the royal family still live in Ubud Palace, you are free to stroll around most of the compound, where you can see ornate architecture and learn about the tradition of house-building associated with the art of Feng Shui. After this, there will be plenty of free time for you to explore the interesting artisan markets, shops, cafes and boutiques of the town.
