Tsingy in Ankarana
Ankarana's landscape never fails to impress with spectacular limestone pinnacles rising up from the plateau and a series of canyon and caves. Keep your camera handy to capture some of the most impressive scenery in Madagascar.
The Tsingy de Ankarana is a limestone massif a few hours west of Amber Mountain. This ‘island’ is surrounded by dry-deciduous forest which is home to a wide range of wildlife. Try to spot the nocturnal sportif lemurs peering out from their tree holes, or the endemic crocodiles that live in the numerous caves and canyons. These canyons due to their isolation and built-in natural protection are often host to species new to science, so keen an eye out! There are many different routes through the park so be sure to discuss with your guide what you want to see. From Indiana Jones style rope bridges to sweeping views across the national park, the Tsingy will not disappoint.
