Tokyo Sake Brewery Tour
As iconic as geishas and sushi, sake has been an important part of Japanese culture and traditions for centuries. This half-day tour takes you to one of Tokyo’s oldest breweries to explore the process of making this much-loved drink.
This morning your guide will meet you at your hotel and take you to the small city of Fussa using the public transport network. Here you will travel to Ishikawa Brewery, dating back to 1863 making it one of the Tokyo regions oldest.
With the help of your guide and a brewery employee, you will be guided through the complex and uncover the secrets to making sake. The Ishikawa Brewery is particularly famed for its Tamajiman sake, which has been made for over eighteen generations using the same traditional methods and its workshop has recently been added to Japan’s Important Cultural Heritage List.
The brewery has a small museum dedicated to its history, which you can visit before enjoying lunch at the breweries restaurant, after which your guide will escort you back to your Tokyo hotel.
