Tokyo Red Lantern Food Tour
With street food experiences in Japan rarely consisting of just one dish, this guided evening tour will take you to five different restaurants and Japanese pubs to sample five delicacies in one of Tokyo’s trendiest yet friendliest night-time spots.
This evening, your local guide will take you to Shibuya, one of Tokyo’s most exciting places to spend the evening, using the excellent public transport network. Here you will explore some of the popular small local eateries, which have been in business for decades, often driven by fierce local competition and friendly rivalries.
Your guide will help you find five delicacies which are especially tasty around the red-lantern-lit narrow alleys of Shibuya; Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), Sashimi with sake tasting, Okonomiyaki (savoury pancakes), Ramen or Udon noodles and finally, some Japanese ice cream for desert.
One drink at each restaurant or small pub is included and your bilingual guide will help you interact with the characterful owners, waiters and locals who call these winding, smoky streets home. Your guide will be happy to escort you back to your hotel at the end of the tour, or you can continue the night, perhaps to one of the small Izakaya bars to really get into the swing of the city.
