The Trail to Champa Devi
A day of gentle trekking on one of the more popular trails around the Kathmandu Valley, your guide will take you through pine forests, past shrines and stupas to some of the finest viewpoints around Kathmandu.
After a two hour drive to the pretty village of Pharping, a prosperous centre of Buddhist learning, your guide will lead you on the path to summit Champa Devi (2,285m).
A well-trodden trail leads through beautiful pine forests which flourish in the climate of the valley and makes for a magical experience. From the top of the hill, there is a Buddhist Stupa which forms another popular place of pilgrimage for Tibetan travellers but the main attractions are the views of the Himalayas.
In clear weather, the Langtang range offers a stunning introduction to some of the highest peaks on the planet including Gaurishankar (7,134) which lays almost directly between Kathmandu and Mt Everest. Apart from the mountains, the other side of the ridge looks down over the city of Kathmandu and is dotted with small hamlets and farms, some of which may be visited.
After enjoying the views, your guide will lead you back down to Pharping, where your driver will take you back to Kathmandu.
