Thanh Phu, My Son & Nam Cang
Spend the day visiting remote villages in the stunning valleys which surround Sapa. Learn about the cultures and customs of the local hilltribes, including the Tay, Xa Pho and Red Dao ethnic minorities.
You adventure will start in the village of Thanh Phu, which is home to the Tay people. The Tay are one of the most long-established and populous minorities in Vietnam. Learn about the Tay culture before continuing your walk along the Muong Bo River to the village of My Son. This village is home to the Xa Pho tribe, who in contrast to the Tay, are one of the smallest ethnic minority groups.
Take a short transfer to the peaceful village of Nam Cang, which is home to members of the Red Dao tribe. Walk through the beautiful scenery along winding pathways before stopping for lunch at a nearby lodge. After lunch, continue to explore the village, learning about local handicrafts including embroidery and making silver jewellery and rice paper.
Please note that this tour includes around two-and-a-half to three hours of walking, and so we recommend wearing sturdy shoes. The order and route may change depending on the weather. Should you be feeling energetic, it is possible to extend the walking.
