Temples of Khajuraho
A tour to visit the temples of Khajuraho to explore their spectacular sculptures and impressive architectural elements.
The Temples of Khajuraho, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, are famous for their spectacular sculptures that show many aspects of Indian life from thousands of years ago, such as gods and goddesses, warriors, musicians and mythological animals. Khajuraho’s temples almost all date from a one-century long burst of creative genius that lasted from 950-1050 AD. You enter the temple through a porch and behind you is the hall, supported by pillars with a corridor around it. The inner sanctum is there the image of the god, to whom the temple is dedicated, is displayed. These sandstone temples are almost all aligned east to west, with the entrances facing east. They are divided into three groups: Western, Eastern and Southern, and of these the Western Group is the most impressive.
