Takayama Rural Cooking Class Experience
An unforgettable day cooking with an experienced home chef, learning about the local culture and traditions and enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings of this little town.
This experience begins as you travel from Takayama to Hida Furukawa, which is a quiet town with peaceful scenery only found in the Japanese countryside. The cooking class takes place in the friendly teacher’s house, which is built in a traditional Japanese style. Having lived in Australia, the teacher speaks fluent English making it easy for you to learn about local Hida Takayama culture and to have a good chat. The teacher has years of experience in cooking and is passionate both about cuisine and English. In the class, you will prepare local dishes, whilst asking questions about the local culture and traditions. This class is limited to six people, offering a personal experience that you will really enjoy. You are encouraged to bring home the recipes for the dishes that you made as a souvenir for this unique rural Japanese lesson. Please note that participants must be 12 years or over to join the class.
