Pak Ou Caves
Enjoy a private two-hour cruise up the Mekong by longtail boat to visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. The caves conceal thousands of Buddha statues, varying in shape, size and design.
After a scenic two-hour cruise through the picturesque countryside, you will reach the jetty at the bottom of the caves, which are then reached by steep stone stairs. The caves’ history dates back thousands of years, and this is one of the holiest sites in Laos. Within the caves, you will find over 4,000 Buddha statues, which have been left here by local people across the centuries.
On the way back to Luang Prabang, you will have the option to stop at the village of Ban Xang Hay, which is famous for its production of rice wine.
