Misfat Al Abriyeen & Lunch at an Omani House
Misfat Al Abriyeen is one of the oldest villages in the region. Winding passageways are shaded by date palms and filaj irrigation systems zig-zag across the hillside. Take a stroll through the village and stop for lunch at a traditional house.
Misfat Al Abriyeen has plenty of character, and the old houses and meandering pathways are wonderfully atmospheric. It is possible to follow a stone stairway down to the bottom of the village, where the wadi bed is lined with lush greenery.
You will stop for lunch at a traditional house located in the middle of the village. The friendly owner has partially turned his home into a rustic guesthouse, and you can enjoy a meal on the covered terrace.
Please note that Misfat Al Abriyeen is a very traditional village, and visitors are expected to adhere to the local culture and customs. Shoulders should be covered, and long trousers or skirts should be worn. Alcohol is not permitted in the village. We also recommend exercising caution and asking permission when taking any photos of the local people. It is not usually acceptable to take pictures of women (and certainly not without asking).
