Lombok's Southwest Coast Tour
A chance to discover traditional village life, learning about Balinese artisan crafts, the fishing, salt and pearl industries, visiting three 15th century temples at the top of Gunung Pengsong, along with a chance to relax on Sekotong beach.
A great day for culture and scenery, the tour starts with an easy climb to the top of Gunung Pengsong, involving 200 stone steps. At the top, you will enjoy wonderful views of the beautiful countryside and villages, as well as seeing three Hindu temples, all dating back to the 15th century. The next stop is the pottery village of Banyumulek, where the Sasak people of Lombok have been crafting pottery for generations and then on to Pengantap beach, where the locals live in simple huts, making a living from fishing. Another fishing village you will visit is Tembowong, where the locals also manufacture salt from the sea water. After a chance to relax on beautiful Sekotong beach and grab a bite to eat from a local warung (not included), your last stop is Labuhan Poh, a village that produces some of the finest pearls in the world.
Do remember to bring a swimming costume for a cooling dip on Sekotong beach.
