Local's Tour of Tokyo by Night
Join a Tokyo resident and guide as you explore a selection of some of the hundreds of tiny bars and restaurants in Shinjuku, the hub of Tokyo nightlife and home to some of its finest delicacies and local characters.
This evening you will be met by a local guide at your hotel and taken by public transport to the bright lights of Shinjuku. One of Tokyo’s most famous districts, Shinjuku comes alive at night and is every bit the neon-lit ‘city of the future’ that the image of Tokyo evokes. Your destination is Kabuki-cho, a series of brightly lit streets and winding alleyways that surround Shinjuku Station, home to Shinjuku’s entertainment district. Your guide will introduce you to several ‘Izakaya’ bars, which often only seat 4-5 patrons facing a charismatic barman.
Your guide will help you interact with Tokyoites relaxing after a hard day at the office and after visiting several bars, you will be taken to finish the evening as they do, with a private Karaoke booth where a local drink will be provided. The tour ends here, but you can by all means stay and continue on into an area which rarely comes alive before the early hours.
