Head out with the Uganda Carnivore Program on a research drive where you will help track and learn about the resident lion population. This is a wonderful opportunity to get face to face with Uganda's top carnivores.
Lions are one of the most famous faces of the African safari experience, and are always a must see for anyone travelling to this incredible continent. Sadly due to habitat loss, agricultural development and a loss of prey populations the numbers of these beautiful animals are beginning to dwindle.
Operations like the Uganda Carnivore Program are dedicated to monitoring and conserving the lion population by understanding both the wildlife and the people of this area. Queen Elizabeth National Park offers some incredible lion viewing opportunities, from large prides on the hunt to lounging in the trees and guests that join this experience will have the best possible chances of some amazing sightings.
Guests will jump aboard the 4x4 research vehicle with Dr Ludwig and his team, and head out in search of their collared lion pride. With a hand held aerial the vehicle will follow the signal until the lions are in sight and then you will be treated to a close encounter with the kings of the savannah.
By joining an experience like this, guests are contributing to the on going success of the program which in turn will contribute to lion conservation. Please note this is a shared game viewing activity and can not be booked on a private basis.
