Kyoto Home Visit – Origami
Origami is has been associated with Japanese culture for centuries and is often used today as dedications or gifts, especially weddings. You will be welcomed into a Kyoto townhouse to learn the history and basics of this wonderful art form.
You will be met at your hotel by your local guide who will also help you interpret the lesson. From here you will travel by taxi to a local townhouse, where your instructor will be waiting for you. You will be able to discover some of the traditions of Origami and how it is still used in modern Japan while you are taught some basic techniques. During the lesson, you will be able to practice several creations such as the classic crane and samurai helmet and you are welcome to take your masterpieces home with you.
After the lesson, your guide arrange a taxi and accompany you back to your hotel.
