While staying in Chitwan National Park, you will be able to enjoy numerous activities in and around the river and forest. You will be able to head out on jeep safaris, river cruises, jungle walks and enjoy a host of cultural interactions.
Chitwan is a nature-lovers dream, with beautiful rivers and forests to explore, all of which with expert naturalists to help you understand and observe this thriving ecosystem.
Jeep safaris will head out in the morning and afternoon to explore the land-based wildlife of the park and offer a good vantage point for spotting the Asian one-horned rhinoceros and with luck, evidence of the Bengal Tiger.
River safaris take in a more leisurely pace in a traditional Nepalese canoe, guided along still water and pockets of small rapids. The Chitwan River is one of the best places to see the critically endangered Gharial crocodile as well as wild Asian elephants and numerous bird species.
For those looking for closer encounters with some of the resident wildlife, taking a jungle walk is an ideal experience. It is a full day filled with jeeps, river crossings and trails through the dense forest as you make your way to camouflaged forest hides where you can lay in wait for wildlife such as jungle cats or even Bengal tigers.
If you are more interested in culture, there are several small villages around the National Park and local dance troupes regularly arrive at the lodge with their infectious rhythms.
Your naturalists and lodge staff will coordinate with you on your arrival of how best to arrange your activities based on what best suits your interests.
