Iga Ninja Experience
Ninjutsu, or the art of stealth has gained near-mythical status in the western world. Originally a form of spying and espionage, this full-day tour takes you into the world of the Shinobi to a Ninja museum and even allows you to practise your skills.
This morning you will be met at your hotel by a specialist guide and private car. From here you drive the hour and a half out to the village of Iga, home to one of Japan’s leading Ninjutsu schools. The village itself was formerly a prosperous castle town inhabited by the samurai classes and many old buildings and streets still remain.
Your guide will lead you to the Iga-ryu Ninja Museum, which is set in the traditional residence of an influential merchant that has been rebuilt on the site. Here, guides in full Ninja attire will guide you through the home, which features many hidden passages and secrets while displaying their own skills in the martial art. Many weapons are on show, and you will be able to test your aim throwing Ninja stars before thrilling show of combat by the resident performance group.
After the performance, your guide will escort you by private vehicle back to Kyoto and your hotel.
