Horse Patrol on Mount Kenya
Spend a morning or afternoon in the foothills of Mount Kenya, the second highest mountain in Africa. Here you will spend the day with the ranger patrol whilst learning about the conservation efforts and protection of the mountain ecosystem.
The Mount Kenya Trust trains and supports rangers on the ground and this experience allows you to get involved in the conservation work happening on Mount Kenya. The rangers use horse patrols to keep on top of poaching and human-wildlife issues that might arise. You will spend 2-3 hours with a patrol and learn about their amazing work while being able to appreciate the incredible scenery and landscape. The money for the excursion covers a donation to the Mount Kenya Trust and an entrance fee to Mount Kenya National Park.
