Hiking in the Drakensberg
Spend the day hiking the Drakensberg, the eastern part of the Great Escarpment. Choose from a variety of trails ranging from gentle walks to steep climbs, as well as opportunities to stop for a picnic or even a swim in the natural pools or waterfalls.
The Drakensberg stretches over 600 miles from the Eastern Cape Province, as well as forming the border between Lesotho and the KwaZulu-Natal area. This mountain range offers excellent hiking opportunities for all, with a variety of trails to choose from, each offering different experiences. There are spectacular views, an opportunity to walk through indigenous forest, grassland plains, or even past streams, natural pools and waterfalls, giving ample opportunities for a swim. Some trails offer excellent bird watching and some may even give a chance to do some game watching.
