Half Day Tokyo Make Your Own Anime Tour
This half-day tour offers a great insight to the history of anime in Japan before giving you the opportunity to produce your very own anime clip at the Suginami Animation Museum, a great experience for both young and old.
Japanese animation and its trends have had a great impact on contemporary culture in Tokyo, today as every bit as part of the city as its shrines and temples. Your guide will assist you in navigating the Tokyo public transport network to Ogikubu Station, close to one of the city’s hubs for anime and manga and home to the Suginami Animation Museum. The museum covers the general history of animation in Japan for newcomers and the curious, but also goes into greater depth for fans of the industry all the way up to future trends and what to expect from the next generation of young animators.
To see if you hold a natural talent for animation, the museum’s workshop offers the opportunity to make a short anime clip yourself, from creating drawings to animating your work using computer software to create an original piece of work that you can keep. If time allows, you can even try out some voice acting, voicing over different anime series including the highly popular Astro Boy. After the tour, you will be dropped off at Shinjuku station in the electric hub of modern Tokyo to continue your day or night.
