Half Day Fushimi Inari Shrine with Sake Tasting
One of Japan’s mist iconic and photogenic highlights, Fushimi Inari Shrine’s 10,000 bright orange Torii Gates are simply a must-see. This half-day tour lets you explore the hills around the temple before an introduction to Sake at a nearby brewery.
Today you will be met at your hotel by your local specialist guide, who will assist you in travelling to Fushimi, using the Kyoto public transport network. On arrival, you will make the short walk to the Fushimi Inari Shrine where you will explore the 4km of trails that lead to the summit shrine complex. The highlight is undoubtedly over 10,000 orange Torii gates, which make for a unique experience as they seemingly encase the entire trail and can make for some striking photography if timed well.
After some fine views of Kyoto, your guide will lead you back the mountain to a local Sake brewery. Here you will learn about the traditional brewing process of this culturally significant drink, before getting the chance to sample their locally produced sake.
Your guide will escort you back to Kyoto Station once the tour is over, but if you wish to continue elsewhere independently, you may ask suggestions and directions for further exploration of the city.
