Guided walks in Amber Mountain National Park
Your guide will take you for a guided walk in Amber Mountain National Park. This is one of the country's most bio-diverse regions and is reputedly the best place in the country for spotting chameleons. Keep your eyes peeled for lemurs & mongoose too.
In the far north of the country, Montagne d'Ambre (Amber Mountain) National Park is an isolated pocket of rainforest surrounded by dry, hot lowlands. Due to its location, the wildlife found here is very unique and the cool mists a welcome relief to the heat of Diego.
A haven for walkers, there are several trails to choose from. Admire the beautiful lakes, massive strangler figs and birdnest ferns along with of course the lemurs, geckos and mongeese. A real treat is the tiny stump-tailed chameleon - the world's smallest reptile.
